Privacy Policy — Grain Sort

This privacy policy explains what information the Grain Sort mobile game ("the App", "we", "us") collects when you play, how it is used, and the choices you have. Grain Sort is published by an independent developer; questions can be sent to githae.francis@gmail.com.

1. Information we collect ourselves

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifying information directly. The App does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email, phone number, address, photos, microphone, camera, contacts, or location.

The following information is stored only on your device using Android's standard local-preferences storage, and never leaves your device:

Your current level and progression
Your in-game coin balance
Your Sound, Music, and Vibration settings

Uninstalling the App removes this data.

2. Information collected by third-party advertising

The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob (a service of Google LLC) and uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to gather your consent where required by law (e.g., the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, and similar regimes).

Data AdMob may collect

Your device's advertising ID (a resettable, non-personal identifier)
Your IP address (used for fraud prevention and to approximate your country/region)
Device and app information (device model, OS version, app version, language)
Interaction events (ads shown, clicks, time spent watching rewarded video)
Approximate location derived from IP (typically country / city level only)

Google uses this data to serve relevant advertising, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and improve its services. Google's own privacy policy governs that data once it is collected: policies.google.com/privacy.

Consent (EU / UK / similar)

When the App is launched in a region with applicable consent-based regulation, a consent form is shown on first launch. You may accept personalized advertising, choose only non-personalized advertising, or change your choice at any time by re-opening the consent dialog from the in-app Settings (when available) or by clearing the App's storage.

3. Children's privacy

Grain Sort is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. AdMob is configured with TagForUnderAgeOfConsent = false for general-audience traffic. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has interacted with the App in a way that triggered third-party data collection, please contact us so we can advise on next steps.

4. Permissions used by the App

The App requests only the permissions required for advertising and basic operation:

Internet access — to download advertisements and consent forms
Network state — to detect whether an ad request will succeed
Advertising ID (declared automatically by Google's SDK) — used by AdMob as described above

The App does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or any other sensitive permissions.

5. Your choices and rights

Reset advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → "Reset advertising ID" (or "Delete advertising ID" on Android 12+).
Opt out of personalized ads: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization". Non-personalized ads will continue to be shown.
Withdraw consent: clear the App's data via Android Settings → Apps → Grain Sort → Storage → Clear data, then relaunch.
EU / UK / California residents: you may exercise your rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA (right to access, deletion, objection, portability) by contacting us at the email below. Where Google is the controller of the data, you may also exercise these rights directly with Google.

6. Data retention and security

Because we do not collect personal data ourselves, we have nothing to retain or delete on our servers. Data collected by Google AdMob is retained and protected under Google's own policies. The local preferences stored on your device persist until you uninstall the App or clear its storage.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new third-party services. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, prompt for fresh consent within the App.
